With exams looming, it can be really hard to drag out your textbooks and start revising. If you're anything like me and can't bear the thought of making mindmaps, lists or flashcards, doing past papers is a somewhat easier way to revise. It's also good practise for exams as you'll get to know the layout & structure of the papers really well. So without any further ado, here are some tips on how to make the most of past papers:
- PRINT IT OUT! Find one your teacher gave you or go on xtremepapers.com. If you have enough self-discipline to do it straight from your iPad, I congratulate you. But don't overestimate yourself because when that iMessage notification from your BFF/bae/crush pops up, you gonna click it.
- Put your iPad/phone/laptop really far away.
- Start with something easy like multiple choice. Do it on your way to and from school. Its really easy to just print out a few multiple choice papers and shove them in your bag. Instead of pulling out your phone and earphones, take out your past paper and pens! Fun, I know, but its worth it.
- Try doing one once a week as revision. Set aside an hour every weekend where you can just sit down and get to work. Force yourself to try the papers you have the most difficulty with, so don't always do multiple choice. Trust me, you'll feel really productive afterwards.
- Challenge a friend to do the same past paper as you, and see who scores the highest. Make it a competition! If you both agree not to chat, this can work really well.
