#1: Find your Weaknesses
I think identifying the subjects that you have trouble with, as well as those you are great at, is a fantastic way to help you find success in the course. Being an expert in a subject is wonderful, but knowing your weaknesses is even better. You now have something that you can work on during the times when you have a couple of hours available. Find a revision guide, or do some questions from the book. For example, I was always bad at Chemistry (I still am...) so what I did was ask questions, did more revision, worked on topics I didn't understand and even asked classmates to help me. By knowing your weak points, you become more aware of the amount of effort that you need to put in and which classes you know you can do better in. In Y11, I managed to get good grades in Chemistry because I had put extra time and effort into making sure that I passed the final exam.
To summarise:
- Do not give up.
- Put more time and effort into your weaknesses than your strengths
- Do not be afraid to ask people for help*
- Get physical aid: revision books, flashcards etc
*Ask students from Y12 and Y13, we can try and help you in the best possible way. There are students that could tutor you. We don't bite, I promise!
